There are nine candidates in run for presidential election of Kazakhstan who will now collect 118,140 signatures in their support for participating Presidential Election.

Early elections will be held June 9.

According to information, the acceptance of applications from those who wish to run for the extraordinary presidential elections has been completed.

To register candidates, which will end on May 11, they need to collect 118,140 signatures in their support, as well as provide a health certificate and income declaration.

As indicated in the message of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan following the meeting held on Sunday, April 28, nine candidates for the presidency submitted applications for participation in the elections, among them the current President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, nominated by the ruling party “Nur Otan” .

Besides him, the presidential candidates are the writer Sadybek Tughel, trade union activist Amangeldy Taspihov, deputies Dania Espayeva and Zhambyl Akhmetbekov, public activist Zhumatai Aliyev, entrepreneur Talgat Yergaliyev, vice minister of agriculture Toleutay Rakhimbekov, and political and social activist journalist journalists.

On holding early elections in Kazakhstan, it was announced on March 19, when long-term head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev resigned after nearly 30 years of rule.
