ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the federal government plans to connect Pakistan with Central Asia via Tirmiz, the southern city of Uzbekistan.

In a meeting with the Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch held in Islamabad on Tuesday, the prime minster said that soon people of Balochistan will come to know that the province will be central point of the economic activity of the whole region.

The prime minster said that the government is giving priority to the development of Balochistan. He said that Balochistan is the main beneficiary of $46 billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Nawaz Sharif said that the on-going projects of Balochistan are being funded on fast track basis and Gawadar will be linked with main cities to unleash the full potential of Balochistan.

On the occasion, the Balochistan chief minister briefed the prime minister about the development projects and security situation of the province.
