LAHORE, Pakistan: An investigation committee will be constituted to probe the Sunday’s suicide bombings on two churches in Lahore, according to an agreement reached during talks between the Punjab government and the leadership of Christian Community on Monday.

The situation became tense after the members of the Christian community on Monday took to the streets in Lahore in order to register their protest over church blasts. Subsequently, clashes erupted between the protesters and police in Youhanabad area where the blasts took place.

Two protesters were also killed and several others were injured when a car hit them at Ferozepur Road.

Meanwhile, a provincial government negotiation committee consisting of Provincial Minister Tahir Khalid Sindhu, former Law Minister Rana Sanuallah Khan, Commissioner & CCPO Lahore and other high level officers held talks with the leadership of Christian Community in Lahore.

During the talks, it was agreed that a committee will be set up to probe into Youhanabad tragic incident.

The government ensured the Christian community for solution of their issues including beefing up security of Churches.

On Sunday, twin suicide bombings took place during prayers at Catholic Church and Christ Church in Lahore’s Youhanabad area, leaving 15 persons dead and injuring more than 70 others.
