Dual Standards of Facebook & Mark Zuckerberg Exposed Badly

NewsDual Standards of Facebook & Mark Zuckerberg Exposed Badly

QuestionWhy Hamza Ali Abbasi’s Status was removed by Facebook?
Is Mark Zuckerberg Hypocrite?
Facebook policies under question?

Dual standards of Facebook and Mark Zuckberg have been exposed badly stated by a well known social media expert of Pakistan on anonymity bases. On January 9 2015, CEO of Facebook (worlds biggest social media website) posted a status after Paris attack which was tragic and unfortunate for every human being and Mark expressed his feelings by putting up a status which represented his views on the sad incident. Mark :

A few years ago, an extremist in Pakistan fought to have me sentenced to death because Facebook refused to ban content about Mohammed that offended him.

We stood up for this because different voices — even if they’re sometimes offensive — can make the world a better and more interesting place.

Facebook has always been a place where people across the world share their views and ideas. We follow the laws in each country, but we never let one country or group of people dictate what people can share across the world.

Yet as I reflect on yesterday’s attack and my own experience with extremism, this is what we all need to reject — a group of extremists trying to silence the voices and opinions of everyone else around the world.

I won’t let that happen on Facebook. I’m committed to building a service where you can speak freely without fear of violence.

My thoughts are with the victims, their families, the people of France and the people all over the world who choose to share their views and ideas, even when that takes courage. ‪#‎JeSuisCharlie‬

But how unfortunate are the double standards of Facebook and the CEO Mark Zuckerberg that it respects the views of others along with freedom of speech on social media apart from considering that sometimes there is thin line between freedom of speech and insulting or Harassing which is also minor offence as per the law. But this is really tragic that when a known model/actor Hamza Ali Abbasi from Pakistan put on his views about the sad Paris attack, facebook instantly took notice of it and deleted the post from the verified fan page.

After reading all the facebook policies and anaylzying the status posted by Hamza Ali Abbasi which was instantly removed by Facebook putting a big Question over their own policies and exposing the double standards of Facebook.

Here is the status posted by Hamza Ali Abbasi in which he using a universal right of humans (freedom of speech) expressed his sentiments by putting up a facebook status on his verified fan page which was later deleted by facebook.  “Hamza’s Status: A french Muslim police officer dies doing his duty in the face of 2 mislead Muslim youth killing falsely in the name of the religion of peace, Islam.Yes, even my blood boils when someone insults my Prophet (S.A.W)…But that does not give individuals the right to kill.In Islam, only “Institutions” are allowed to kill for justice, not for revenge or hate. But west needs to understand too that freedom of expression includes criticism, disagreement or even rejection of faiths or ideology…but should not and must not allow “Insult”.Would it be “freedom of expression” if i brand black people as Niggers or if i say Hitler was a messiah? Would i not be branded a racist or a anti Semitic? As Muslims all the world are condemning this incident…the west needs to rethink and fix its definition of “Freedom of Expression”. Otherwise…someone from almost 2 Billion of us Muslims will go ballistic and kill unjustly”

FBEvery one from Pakistan including civil society is asking a verified official statement by facebook over this issue or else everyone would consider that Hamza Ali Abbasi is right about the dual standards, hypocrisy of Facebook and Mark Zuckberg.

Now i leave it upon ou readers to decide if Hamza Ali Abbasi has violated any Facebook policy!!
