Fazl warns of bigger sit-in if democracy derailed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday warned Imran-Qadri nexus to stage bigger protest against them if their conspiracies derailed democracy from the country.

“Those trying to enter power corridor from backdoor must not be mistaken from our patience. He said If they will try to derail democracy, I warn them to stage bigger sit-ins and not to let them work even for a single day,” Fazl said on the floor of the National Assembly.

The JUI-F leader said that all democratic forces stand united against the undemocratic moves and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should categorically announce that he will not resign at all and will stand firm to save democracy.

“We shall fight for democracy and supremacy of the Parliament,” he announced.

Fazl said that protests are democratic right of political forces but no unconstitutional demands can be accepted.

“Today Qadri states that parliament is fake. He is backed by western, international and unseen forces who want to trample down democracy in the country”.

The JUI-F leader said that all religio-political parties strongly believe in the supremacy of the constitution and the parliament. “If we shall stage sit in, then you will forget yours.”

Maulana Fazl asked the Parliament to make certain laws for future and decide about sanctity of the federal capital because it is not acceptable that any leader with few thousand followers siege the capital and earn bad name for the nation.

“We are not afraid of their demands. We are not afraid of their protests. These are simply bubbles and will fade away within couple of days,” he added.
