Rasheed rules out any threat to democracy

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed on Saturday emphatically stated that there is no threat to democracy from any quarter.

Talking to the media in Lahore on Saturday, the information minister said that holding protest and rallies is the democratic right of every political party but this should not be used for abusing but strengthening of democracy.

The information minister said that those nurtured under the dictatorial rule consider democracy as a threat to their survival.

Referring to the dialogue process with the Taliban, Rasheed said that the government wants to resolve the issue through dialogue without any bloodshed. But it will give a befitting response to any violent act from the other party.
