MQM announces countrywide protests against kidnapping of party workers

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to hold protest demonstrations in Karachi on Thursday while across Pakistan on Friday against the kidnapping of its workers.

The announcement was made by the MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi during a press conference along with the MQM Coordination Committee members in Karachi on Tuesday.

The MQM leader alleged that party workers were being picked up by plainclothes personnel in vehicles without number plates and were being subjected to severe torture.

Abbas questioned why the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) have failed to take action against plainclothes men driving vehicles with tinted glasses.
