CNG closure case: IHC restores previous schedule

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday declared the government’s decision to suspend gas supply to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for indefinite period in Potohar region as null and void, and restored previous schedule.

The IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz announced the verdict in CNG closure case in Islamabad on Thursday and declared null and void the Economic Coordination Committee’s decision, describing it against the government’s load management policy.

In its ruling, the court directed provision of the gas to CNG stations in Pothohar region three days a week as per the previous schedule.

It also directed the federal government to take up the issue in Council of Common Interests (CCI) within 90 days.
