Two buses plunge into ravine in Murree, 20 killed

MURREE: Two passenger buses plunged into a 150-foot deep ravine after a head-on collision in Salgaran area of Murree on Wednesday, killing at least 20 persons and injuring several others.

According to reports, two buses were on their way from Murree to Rawalpindi when they collided with each other and plunged into a ravine in Salgaran.

The dead and injured were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Poly Clinic Hospital Islamabad, where an emergency was imposed.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took notice of the accident and directed DCO and CPO Rawalpindi to personally supervise the rescue operation.

The prime minister expressed concerned over traffic arrangements during inclement weather and asked the administration and traffic police to formulate a comprehensive plan in this regard.
