ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday described the security as major issue for the country and said no development could be made without peace.

During his address, the prime minister stressed the need to pay special heed on both economy and security in the vision 2025 programme.

“As a nation we will have to reach on a consensus to ensure economic development and security with a collective agenda,” Sharif said.

The prime minister said besides these issues special focus will have to pay on the resolution of energy crisis for speedy economic development. He said although some steps have been taken to reduce power load shedding but there is need to take more measures to steer the country out of this crisis.

The premier said the present Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led government has introduced new political culture of accommodation to ensure public welfare and national development.

“No one will be allowed to destabilize any provincial government and they are free to work independently in their domain for the development of their people,” he said.

Nawaz Sharif said PML-N strictly sticks on the charter of democracy signed with Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to bring political stability in the country which is vital for sustainable development of Pakistan.

The prime minister said the federal government has respect for all the provincial governments which are dear to it and every assistance will be provided to them to resolve problems of their province.

Moreover, he said the federal government will continue assisting the Sindh government to improve law and order in Karachi which is economic hub of the country.  He said today we have single point agenda that is to protect sovereignty of Pakistan and our national interests.
