ISLAMABAD: Masood Janjua, husband of Amna Masood Janjua, had links with Al-Qaeda and had been killed along with another person in an attack in South Waziristan Agency, the Additional Attorney General Tariq Khokhar told the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the Masood Janjua missing person case on Wednesday.

During today’s preceding, Khokhar apprised court that a former ISI top officer had recorded his statement before the inquiry commission probing the missing persons’ case that Masood Janjua had links with Al-Qaeda and had been killed in an attack in Waziristan.

The Chief Justice directed the additional attorney general to present credible evidences for Masood Janjua’s links with Al-Qaeda and his killing as the court was bound to go by the evidences and not the emotions.

Amna Masood Janjua also appeared before the court and stated that the missing persons commission had taken U-turn after the statements by the intelligence agencies.

Later, the Chief Justice directed the additional attorney general to submit a detailed report about the evidences in the case in the next date of hearing and adjourned further hearing of the case till September 13.
