ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak and Federal Water and Power Minister Khwaja Asif agreed upon abolishing the issue of worst load shedding in the province.

CM Khattak, who called on Khwaja Asif in Islamabad, said the load shedding could be dwindled only after the system of power supply and distribution is streamlined on modern lines.

Meantime, the federal minister Khwaja Asif assured about no unannounced spans of power outages in the province in future.

Talking to media after the meeting, the federal minister said the federal government will extend every possible cooperation to the province to end power crisis, adding the provincial government can reciprocate by cooperating in recovery of power arrears as well as in campaign against the power theft.

The province is fully capable to generate 24,000 Megawatts of electricity; the investors are being invited for the purpose, the KPK Chief Minister asserted clarifying however, that stemming power theft is WAPDA’s jurisdiction; however, the provincial government will remain at hand with complete cooperation.
