Nawaz Sharif’s blatant lie over Bani Gala Road exposed

PoliticsNawaz Sharif’s blatant lie over Bani Gala Road exposed

LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif once again resorted to a blatant lie on Tuesday, saying that the incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lifetime Chairman Imran Khan asked him to build a road outside his residence in Bani Gala in 2013.

While addressing the Party’s General Council Meeting in Lahore on Tuesday wherein he was elected unopposed as the PML-N President after six years, Nawaz Sharif said that he visited Imran Khan after May 2013 general elections and asked him to make mutual efforts for the betterment of the Country, shunning their differences.

Just prior to his return from Imran Khan’s residence, Nawaz Sharif continued to say, the PTI leader requested him to build a road in Bani Gali for him to travel conveniently.

Nawaz Sharif claimed that he built the road within 10 to 12 days upon his request but later, Imran Khan went to London and hatched a conspiracy to overthrow his elected government.

It’s not the first time that the PML-N supremo boasted about being so generous to Imran Khan and complying to his request for personal gains. Just a few days ago as well, Nawaz Sharif distorted the facts in a public statement about the said meeting between him and Imran Khan.

Reacting to Nawaz Sharif’s false assertions, the embattled PTI leader slammed him for fixing a road as a price of his conscience. He said that he himself got the road constructed by selling gifts, he had received from Toshakhana.

Not only Imran Khan but the PML-N senior leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui also has dismissed the claim of Nawaz Sharif.

In a Samaa News Program ‘Nadeem Malik Live’ telecast a few years ago, Senator Irfan Siddiqui revealed that he was also present in the said meeting, and setting the record straight told that Imran Khan didn’t make any request to Nawaz Sharif demanding a road outside his Bani Gala residence. Rather in fact, Irfan Siddiqui added, while returning from there, Nawaz Sharif witnessed the dilapidated condition of the Bani Gala road and asked the CDA Officials to repair it.
