Islamabad, Pakistan: Organized by the literary and cultural organization “Zawiya”, the book-launching ceremony of the compilation of poetry of one of the greatest Urdu poets of the 20th century, Mushir Kazmi, will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, in Islamabad.
Mushir Kazmi is one of the eternal poets of elegiac poetry who devoted their lives to Urdu poetry. His everlasting song “Ae Rah-e-Haq Kay Shaheedo, Wafa Ki Tasveero” represents the beauty and pleasure of martyrdom. The philosophy of Shahadat (Martyrdom) cannot be explained unless citing the names of the House of Muhammad (PBUH) from Ali the Lion of God to Ali Asghar, the youngest martyr of Karbala. Kazmi became eternal after penning “Aye Rah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedo” while alluding to the life of a martyr and his or her journey to heaven for giving life to the motherland.
Aye Rah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedo is a song that can still run blood in the eyes against the enemies of the motherland and ignites the wish to lay life for the country. Song was composed and sung for the film Madar-e-Watan released in 1966, a year after the 1965 War to pay homage to martyrs of the 1965 War.

Born in Ambala in 1915, Masheer Kazmi (Mashir Kazmi) also known as Mashir Kazmi wrote lyrics of Aye Rah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedo while music was given by Salim-Iqbal (Salim Hussain and his brother Iqbal Hussain) and vocalist was Naseem Begum. Alas, Naseem Begum was admitted to a hospital in Lahore on September 29, 1971, for child delivery and died due to pregnancy-related complications. She was just 35 years of age. She was buried in Mominpura graveyard which is also the last resting place of the poet of the song Mashir Kazmi.
Poet Masheer Kazmi wrote several blockbuster songs of the 50s and 60s and reached the pinnacle of his popularity after writing Aye Rah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedo. Masheer Kazmi died in Lahore on December 8, 1975, and was buried in Mominpura graveyard Lahore.
