The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan has negated the allegations hurled by certain quarters especially Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) landmark jalsa at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on October 30, 2011 that it was facilitated by the former ISI Chief Lt General (retd) Ahmed Shuja Pasha.

Talking to the anchorperson Waseem Badami in ARY News Programme “11th Hour”, Aleem Khan categorically rejected the impression that Lt General (retd) Ahmed Shuja Pasha helped pulling the people to PTI’s public gatherings at Minar-e-Pakistan turning them into mammoth ones.

Aleem Khan said that he was the In-Charge of four jalsas organized by PTI at the venue, and the people used to participate in those gatherings at will and with passion.

“A jalsa gah can’t be filled with rented crowd or by offering biryani etc,” he said.

But, he added, it happens that political parties ask the people from adjoining areas to attend the jalsa to make the event successful.

Aleem Khan, who was once a staunch critic of Sharif family but now his IPP has made seat adjustments in Punjab with PML-N for upcoming general elections, also denied that he ever extended financial favours to the former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Neither he (Imran Khan) ever sought nor I extended financial favours to him for personal reasons,” the IPP president said adding that even he never brought a pair of socks from London for Imran Khan.

The IPP president also said that his party is in contact with a number of PTI Candidates, who are vying in February 8 general elections as Independents. He also told that a few of them have even committed to join IPP after the polls.

Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
