PoliticsPTI Chief seeks national policy on terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that he will write a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a bid to formulate a national counter-terrorism policy.

Speaking at a convention of party’s Punjab chapter, Khan said that there was need to have a national policy to deal with militancy engulfing FATA and other parts of the country.

He reiterated that his government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province would be a role model for the rest of the province. “I make a claim here that after the end of five years, Khyebr Pakthunkhwa will be able to export electricity to other provinces,” he said.

Talking about May 11 elections, he said his party brought 80 percent new leadership in the election, adding no party will be able to challenge his party in future.

PTI is the only party in the country that has brought 80 percent new leadership in the election.

Admitting the problems faced during PTI’s intra-party elections‚ Imran Khan said “we learned a lot from our mistakes and we will hold the next elections in party after considering all the factors.”

He said PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a test case which will hopefully meet the expectations of the masses.

He said that a bio-metric system would be introduced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to hold local body elections and stop rigging.
