LAHORE: Total 577 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 9 lives were reported dead and 474 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 223 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on June 24, 277 drivers, 27 underage drivers, 89 pedestrians and 340 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 149 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 173 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 51 RTAs in Faisalabad with 62 victims and Multan remained at third position with 42 RTAs and 50 victims.

The details further show that total 706 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 561 males and 145 females, while age group of the victims show that 112 were under 18 year of age, 447 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 147 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 467 motorbikes, 58 auto rickshaws, 54 motorcars, 25 vans, 04 passenger buses, 17 trucks and 74 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
