ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has lamented the opposition for irrationally criticizing the National Accountability Bureau (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021.

Talking to the media along with the Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Maleeka Ali Bukhari in Islamabad on Thursday, Farrukh Habib said that the opposition has only one motive which is to protect their own vested interests and to get pardon in their corruption cases.

The minister said that the Ordinance is aimed at strengthening and making the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) more vibrant.

Farrukh Habib further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to curb the menace of corruption from the Country. He said that accountability is an essential element for democracy.

In her remarks, Maleeka Ali Bukhari said that the opposition is criticizing the NAB Ordinance without even reading its draft. She said that the government has devised a comprehensive Ordinance to promote accountability in the Country.

Maleeka Bukhari said that if the opposition is ready to make some rational recommendations then the government is ready to incorporate their suggestions.
