ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday launched the Letter of Administration and Succession Certificates Initiative for Punjab in Islamabad, enabling the legal heirs to get Succession Certificates from the Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) within 15 days without approaching the Courts.

In his remarks at the Launching Ceremony, Prime Minister Imran Khan termed it as an important step saying it will greatly facilitate the people including the Overseas Pakistanis.

The prime minister expressed the commitment to use the latest technologies in order to bring further ease in the lives of the people.

The prime minister said that we are also introducing e-governance to improve the performance of public sector departments.

Imran Khan said that the land record of all the main Cities including the Federal Capital will be computerized by August 2021.

The issuance of Letters of Administration and Succession Certificates by the NADRA was inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on January 21.

The initiative enabled the NADRA to use biometric authentication to issue Succession Certificates and Letters of Administration for the first time in Pakistan.

Earlier, it normally took 2 to 7 years to get a simple Letter of Administration or Succession Certificate by the Courts but now it would take only 15 days.

Previously, all the legal heirs had to be physically present at the Courts in Pakistan, now even if legal heirs are absent, the Letters of Administration and Succession Certificates will be issued.
