LAHORE: Total 497 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 06 lives were lost and 410 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 172 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.
According to the details issued on Tuesday, 201 drivers, 16 Underage Drivers, 102 pedestrians and 285 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents.
The statistics show 110 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 114 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 64 RTAs in Faisalabad with 73 victims and Multan remained at third position with 23 RTAs and 30 victims.
The details further show that total 588 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 483 males and 105 females, while age group of the victims show that 85 were under 18 year of age, 348 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 155 victims were reported above 40 years.
According to the data, 405 motorbikes, 54 auto rickshaws, 49 motor cars, 29 vans, 5 passenger buses, 12 trucks and 60 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
