KARACHI: A senior lawyer and his two teenage sons were killed in an early morning attack in Karachi as violence claimed four other lives elsewhere in the city.

Advocate Kausar Saqlain Abbas left home in his car to drop his two sons at a school near Tower when armed attackers ambushed his vehicle on Maripur Road at around 8:30.

The attackers fired multiple shots on the vehicle and managed to flee, killing the two kids – 14-year-old Muhammad Aon Abbas and 12-year-old Muhammad Owais Abbas – on the spot while Abbas was critically injured.

The lawyer was critically injured receiving several bullets in his head and chest. Police and rescue teams shifted him to the hospital but he was pronounced dead upon his arrival at the hospital.

Police said it was an incident of target killing. Abbas was advocate in Sindh High Court and a member of Karachi Bar Council (KBC).

Meanwhile, the KBC and Sindh Bar Council condemned the murders and boycotted proceeding of courts in SHC and District Court Malir.
