LAHORE: The first session of the Punjab Assembly has been summoned for June 1 and Governor Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood has signed the summary in this regard, whereas the first sessions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh assemblies have been summoned on 29 May (Wednesday) in Peshawar and Karachi respectively.

According to details, newly elected Members will take oath followed by election of Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the three Houses.

Provincial Secretary for Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Abul Hasan Najmi said that the session of Punjab Assembly has been summoned on June 1 at 10:00 am.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mohammad Iqbal would chair the assembly session, after which separate sessions would be called to elect speaker and deputy speaker of the house, sources said.

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi had earlier said that CM-in-waiting Shahbaz Sharif would take oath on June 6.
