RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday expressed concern over the use of synthetic drug ice in educational institutions, saying there were seven million drug addicts in Pakistan.

In his address at a Ceremony at the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Headquarters in Rawalpindi after inaugurating a new building, the prime minister said the use of drugs was a silent killer and a drug addict in a family destroyed the entire family.

Emphasizing on the collective responsibility of the society to fight against the menace of narcotics, the prime minister said they would together fight the cancer of drugs in the society as they had to protect their youth.

The prime minister said the strength of the Anti-Narcotics Force would be enhanced and the supportive ministries would play their due role for drug control.

Earlier upon his arrival, the prime minister visited the Yadgar-e-Shuhada (Martyrs’ Memorial) at the ANF Headquarters wherein he laid a floral wreath, and offered a prayer.
