ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Praising Pakistan’s resolute position on Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that this support is the true reflection of the brotherly nature of our cooperation and we will never forget it.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for its firm position to stand by its Azerbaijani brothers in this time of need.

The Azerbaijani president expressed these views upon receiving the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bilal Hayee who presented his credentials during the meeting in Baku.

It is pertinent to mention here fighting between Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenian forces over the breakaway territory of Nagorno-Karabakh entered the fourth day on Wednesday in the biggest eruption of their decades-old conflict since a 1994 ceasefire.

Pakistan threw its weight behind Azerbaijan following Armenia’s border violations and attacks in Upper Karabakh.

“Pakistan stands with the brotherly nation of Azerbaijan and supports its right of self-defense,” the Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said in a statement in Islamabad on September 27.

“We support Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh, which is in line with several unanimously adopted UN Security Council resolutions,” the Spokesperson added.

In a video, President Ilham Aliyev could be seen praising Pakistan, and reiterated, “We are very grateful to Pakistan’s firm position with respect to the issues of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

“Pakistan is a Country which does not recognize Armenia because of its occupation of Azerbaijani lands. This is a true demonstration of brotherhood and fraternity, as in all cases, Pakistan always stands by us and I am grateful for that,” he maintained.

“Pakistan is always next to us on all occasions and I am very grateful and convey my gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi, and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi for their support to the just cause of Azerbaijan,” the president added.

President Ilham Aliyev said that the Foreign Minister of Pakistan issued a statement with respect to the recent Arminian military provocations against our country in support of our just cause.

Aliyev further said that Arminian launched new military provocations against Azerbaijan on September 29 which is a continuation of its occupational policy.

“I once again expressed my gratitude to our brothers of Pakistan we feel this support throughout the years of cooperation. you can imagine it is a very important moment who is standing next to you and we see next to us today the countries which openly expressing their positions is our brotherly Turkey and Pakistan,” the Azerbaijani president said.

“It’s time of truce who is firm standing next to us and we will never forget it. So once against Mr. Ambassador to convey my gratitude to PM, President and foreign minister to our entire brother in Pakistan as our friendship and brotherhood will continue,” he concluded.
