ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the conversation, the prime minister offered condolences to the people and the government of Turkey over the loss of precious lives as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Imran Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s abiding support and solidarity with Turkey including in Turkey’s efforts to combat the pandemic.

The prime minister also conveyed thanks for the facilitation of stranded Pakistanis by Turkish authorities in the aftermath of discontinuation of flight operations.

The two leaders agreed that Pakistan and Turkey must work together and reinforce each other’s efforts in the fight against the COVID-19.

By now more than 34,000 people have been infected by the virus in Turkey and 725 have lost their lives. While in Pakistan, over 4,000 people have so far been diagnosed with the Coronavirus and 56 of them are no more now.
