ISLAMABAD, Pakistan; The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Nawaz Sharif is an accused of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), and a proper procedure is being followed to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

Talking to media after appearing in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for a Contempt of Court hearing on Monday morning, Dr Firdous said that if the former President Asif Ali Zardari is suffering from serious illness, he should file an application to the government as per the rules.

The Special Assistant further said that the government has initiated the process to bring judicial reforms. She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a Special Committee in the Chairmanship of Law Minister Farogh Naseem to address the issues related to District Courts of the Federal Capital.

Dr Firdous said that the Committee will prepare a comprehensive report and present its recommendations to improve the performance of the District Courts.

Earlier the IHC rejected Firdous Ashiq Awan’s apology and directed her to reappear on November 14 in the Contempt of Court Case.

Firdous Ashiq Awan’s is facing a Contempt of Court Case for holding an anti-judiciary Press Conference during which she said that a special hearing was conducted in evening to give relief to the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
