TASKHENT, Uzbekistan: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Dr Irfan Yusuf Shami honoured five eminent Pakistani artisans who represented the Country in the First International Craftsmanship Festival held in Kokand City of Uzbek Ferghana region on September 10-15, 2019.

The festival was inaugurated by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The artisans included from Mr. & Mrs. Khadim Hussain Mirani (from Khairpur – basketry from date tree leaves); Mr. Naeem Shahzad (from Sillanwalia District Sargodha – Wooden laquer); Malik Abdul Rehman Naqash (from Multan – Naqqashi Art Camel Skin lamps) and Mr. Akmal Mirza (from Sillanwalia District Sargodha- wood carving.

Pakistani artisans were particularly appreciated by the Uzbek president.
