LAHORE, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has urged media to come forward for bringing about an improvement in the system.

While addressing a ceremony at Lahore Press Club on Tuesday afternoon, she said that media should give positive suggestions to the government so as to make Pakistan an advanced Country.

The special assistant said that progress and prosperity of journalist fraternity is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. She said that media persons have always supported Imran Khan on matters of national interest for changing the old system.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government is providing all possible facilities to the journalists and all-out measures are afoot for their well-being and betterment. She said that the government is paying ample attention to progress of the marginalized areas of the Country. She said that journalists will be given their share in the housing scheme.

Dr Firdous regretted that in the past, the journey of development was confined to a few cities only. She also said that difference of opinion is necessary for the improvement of the performance.

In addition, the special assistant said that a new advertising policy is being formulated, adding that wage board award for journalists will be discussed after Eid.
