ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Considering the difficulties being faced by low-paid pensioners, the Federal Minister for Finance Revenue and Economic Affairs Miftah Ismail on Friday announced to increase minimum pension to Rs 10,000 from the present Rs 6,000.

“Family pensioners would also get increased from Rs 4,500 to 7,500,” he said in his budget speech at the National Assembly in Islamabad.

Miftah Ismail said minimum pension of pensioners above the age of 75 would be Rs 15,000.

The finance minister announced a relief loaded and growth oriented federal budget for the next fiscal year 2018-19 with an outlay of Rs 5246 billion in the Lower House Chaired by the Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
