PESHAWAR: An attempt to blow up the shrine of sufi saint Abdullah Baba in Peshawar was foiled on Monday when a bomb was defused.

Sources said the Bomb Disposal Squad defused a three kilogram Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) planted outside the shrine in Peshawar’s Badhbir area.

Officials said a local resident spotted the bomb and informed the police after which the BDS rushed to the site and defused the explosive material, saving the city from another terror incident.
