Social129,534 cases of Human Rights violations across Pakistan reported in 5 years

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 129,534 cases of Human Rights violations were reported across the Country while 174,119 accused were arrested during last five years (2013-17), according to the data of National Police Bureau.

The data compiled by National Police Bureau revealed that nature of these cases included murdered, honor killing, kidnapping, sexual assault, acid attack, violence against women and children etc.

The data was obtained by the Ministry of Human Rights and its Regional Offices, the concerned Inspector General Police (IGP) offices and Police Departments.

According to the data, 1,169 cases were reported from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 109,031 from Punjab, 10,967 from Sindh, 4,607 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 3,760 from Balochistan during this period.

Taking action on the cases, the police have arrested 1,895 accused from Islamabad Capital Territory, 149,300 from Punjab, 9,654 from Sindh, 7,546 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 5,724 from Balochistan.
