RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Security forces have killed more than 100 terrorists and arrested a number of others from across the Country since last night as per the directives of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
While giving update about the anti-terror operations initiated across the Country in the wake of deadliest suicide blast at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Shrine in Sehwan, the ISPR said that as ordered by the COAS last night, response to recent terrorist incident is in progress across the Country.
The ISPR said that Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) and Combining Operations are in progress across the Country including Punjab.
It said that over 100 terrorists have been killed since last night and sizeable apprehensions also made. Intelligence agencies are making progress to unearth network behind recent terrorist incidents.
The ISPR said that there are linkages of support for these incidents from across the border. It said that the Pakistan-Afghanistan Border has been closed since last night due to security reasons.
“No cross border/unauthorized entry will be allowed to Pakistan from Afghanistan,” the ISPR said, adding that security forces have been given special orders in this regard to have strict watch all along the border.
Moreover, the ISPR said that the Afghan authorities have been given a list of 76 terrorists who are hiding across the border since long and planning/directing/supporting terrorist activities in Pakistan. The Afghan government has been asked to target them/hand them over to Pakistan, the ISPR said.
The ISPR further told that terrorists’ hideouts on Pak-Afghan border have been effectively targeted.
Meanwhile in a message to the nation, the COAS said that “Army is for security of People of Pakistan against all types of threat. Nation to stay steadfast with full confidence in their security forces. We shall not let the hostile agenda succeed whatever it may cost.”
