ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Hajj agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is likely to be inked in February, said an official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Thursday.

Talking to media, he said that a Pakistani delegation will visit Saudi Arabia next month in this regard.

The official said that the consultation process for devising new Hajj policy has almost been completed. He said that a conference of directors of Haji camps would be held in February for contemplating to improve training mechanism of Hujjaj and overcome shortcomings.

In addition, he said that Hajj training is the essential part of performing Hajj.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf told the Senate that the new Hajj policy is under preparation in consultation with all stakeholders.

In reply to a question in the Upper House, he said that a number of proposals have been received from provinces and other stakeholders and these are being considered while formulating the new policy.

Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
