SocialSecond International Sufi Conference to be held in March 2016

KARACHI, Pakistan: Special Assistant to the CM Sindh, Sharmila Faruqui on Tuesday reviewed arrangements for “Second International Sufi Conference” in a meeting held at the Directorate of Culture here.

The meeting discussed various issues related to the conference scheduled to be held in March 2016 in the metropolis, said a statement on Tuesday.

Director General Culture Sindh, Manzoor Kanasro presented an overview of last conference held in October 2014 and invited recommendations, suggestions and proposals from the scholars.

Sharmila observed that the conference was being held at the time when law and order situation has improved, adding that “we need to mobilize youth in such events to promote message of tolerance and peace”.

A committee was formed to recommend names of renowned guest participants and speakers not only from across Pakistan but all over the world.

The Committee will meet on weekly basis to devise guidelines for the required arrangements.

Secretary Culture Tourism and Antiquities, Abdul Kareem Solangi, Secretary Endowment Fund Trust, Hameed Akhund, Director Mohatta Palace Nasreen Askari, Dean SMIU Dr Aurangzeb, Pro Vice Chancellor Shah Abdul Latif University Dr Noor Ahmed, Dr Aslam Pervaiz, Dr Ghulam  Ali Allana, Dr Nawaz Ali Shouq, Shafeeq ur Rehman Paracha, Aslam Pervaiz Memon and officers of the concerned government Departments attended the meeting.
