SocialSecurity to be tightened in Karachi on eve of New Year

KARACHI, Pakistan: Sindh police department engaged in making extra ordinary security arrangements across the province, particularly Karachi during past one week, will continue with its spree till the end of current year.

Concerned officials told media Monday that fool proof security arrangements would be ensured for the New Year Night ensuring that no untoward incident is registered putting at risk public lives as well as property.

Efforts to avert terrorism would be equally complimented by measures to avoid rowdyism,” they said reminding that similar measures had been adopted in previous years too.

According to concerned officials the department would ensure that no incidence of aerial firing takes place in the metropolis nor any motorcyclist resort to single wheeling or ply the vehicles without silencer causing serious inconvenience to the citizens in general.

Around 4100 cops would be deputed on special duties as part of extra-ordinary measures for maintenance of law and order situation.

Reiterating that safety of public life and property is and would be the top priority of the police department, the officials said police men would be extremely vigilant and compliant to standard operating procedures.

In reply to a question, they said special arrangements are also underway for fool proof security at different recreational sites, including sea-sides.
