ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government has announced closure of all government institutions and departments on December 24 (Thursday) in connection with 12th Rabiul Awwal.

Meanwhile, as Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) draws closer, preparations are gaining pace with buildings and shrines in various cities of the country being decorated with colourful buntings, banners and fancy lights to celebrate the occasion with great reverence and devotion.

The stalls carrying buntings, banners, badges, stickers and flags inscribed with the slogans of paying respect and reverence to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) are being set up at every corner of the country.

Large banners and big bill boards are being displayed at different entrance points of streets and main roads in different cities while mosques, homes and plazas are being decorated with colorful lights and buntings.

Special programmes are being prepared for paying tribute and to highlight different aspects of the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

On 12th Rabiul Awwal, processions would also be taken out in almost every city.

Elaborate security arrangements are being made to ensure peace on 12th Rabiul Awwal and all the routes of the Milad processions will be thoroughly checked and the security will be tightened at the prescribed routes.
