Social3-day annual Urs of Bhittai begins

BHITSHAH (MATIARI): Three day long 272nd Urs celebrations of great mystic poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai started here Friday morning.

The urs was inaugurated by Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister on Auqaf and Religious Affairs Senator Dr. Abdul Qayoom Soomro.

Dr Qayoom Soomro laid wreaths and offered Fateha at the Mazar of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.

The international literary conference, musical concerts, traditional Sindhi wrestling “Malakhra”, horse and cattle race, agro-industrial exhibition and Latif Award will be held during the celebrations. The Urs will conclude on November 29.

Thousands of devotees have already reached here to pay homage to great mystic poet and participate in the Urs celebrations.

Adequate arrangements have been made to facilitate the visitors while the district administration Matiari has adopted strict security arrangements with deployment of sufficient numbers of Rangers and Police personnel and installation of walkthrough gates and closed circuit cameras in order to avert any untoward incident.
