World leaders have condemned Paris terror attacks and called it an attack on humanity by senseless people.

President Barack Obama offered his support to the French people at a press conference Friday evening.

“Once again we’ve seen an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians,” Obama said. “This is not an attack just on Paris. This is not an attack on all of France. This is an attack on all of humanity and the values we share.”

His address was unscheduled and immediate. He said:

“This is a heartbreaking situation, and obviously those of us in the United States know what that’s like,” President Obama said in his address, which occurred at approximately 5:45pm EST. “We will work with the French people and nations around the world to bring these terrorists to justice, and prevent them from going after more people.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered his deep condolences for the “series of monstrous terrorist attacks in Paris.” He has offered his solidarity to French President Francois Hollande and to the people of France, the Kremlin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov told RIA. Peskov added that Russia condemns such acts, and will offer any help it can to bring those responsible for attacks to justice.

British Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday said he was “deeply shocked” by the deadly attacks in Paris, offering “thoughts and prayers” to the French people.

“I am shocked by events in Paris tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with the French people. We will do whatever we can to help,” Cameron said via his Twitter account.

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond also tweeted: “Deeply shocked by appalling attacks in Paris tonight. My thoughts are with victims and their loved ones. Concerned by reports of hostages taken.”

A Foreign Office statement said it is in close touch with the French authorities and are urgently investigating whether any British nationals are caught up in them.
