ISLAMABAD: The death toll due to floods and rains across the country has risen to 234 besides injuries to 1129 people, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in its latest data.

The NDMA said 1.47 million people and 7‚693 villages have been hit by floods while 21‚133 houses destroyed.

The authority said relief and rehabilitation efforts are continuing to mitigate the sufferings of the marooned people.

The agencies concerned have so far distributed over 57, 834 tents; 126, 400 food packs, 17, 200 blankets; over 31, 000 mosquito nets and 63 de-watering pumps in the affected areas.
