Social07 dead, 574 injured in 484 road traffic accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: Total 484 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 07 lives were lost and 407 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 167 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on June 15, 219 drivers, 91 pedestrians and 271 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 104 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 108 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 51 RTAs in Faisalabad with 59 victims and Multan remained at third position with 37 RTAs and 38 victims.

The details further show that total 581 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 452 males and 129 females, while age group of the victims show that 98 were under 18 year of age, 336 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 147 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 397 motorbikes, 56 auto rickshaws, 44 motorcars, 19 vans, 8 passenger buses, 10 trucks and 47 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
