MADRID: Over 60 million phone calls in Spain were spied on in only one month by the US National Security Agency (NSA), a Spanish newspaper said on Monday.
The report was based on information provided by US surveillance whistleblower Edward Snowden.
The newspaper said that the NSA spied on 60.5 million phone calls in Spain between December 10, 2012 and January 8 this year.
The Spanish government said that it was not aware its citizens had been spied on by the US spy agency.
