DND Report: A photo album-launch and exhibition titled “Uzbekistan Through the Lens of Pakistani Photographers” was inaugurated at Gallery, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Islamabad, highlighting the cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and scenic beauty of Uzbekistan.
The event commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Chaudhry Hamid Mahmood, Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan Tourism in Pakistan, who emphasized that photography is a powerful medium for cultural diplomacy and plays a vital role in strengthening people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
Addressing the audience, His Excellency Mr. Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, stated that such cultural initiatives help bring nations closer and promote Uzbekistan as an emerging tourism destination for Pakistani travelers.
The Chief Guest, His Excellency Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture, highlighted the importance of cultural exchanges in fostering mutual understanding and enhancing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
Later, His Excellency Mr. Atta Ur Rehman, Federal Minister for Information, stressed the role of media, photography, and creative storytelling in projecting a positive image of countries and promoting intercultural harmony.
Renowned photojournalist Mr. Ramzan Mughal shared insights into the photographers’ experiences and the artistic process behind capturing Uzbekistan’s heritage, architecture, and traditions through Pakistani perspectives.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a guided tour of the displayed photographs and a networking session among diplomats, artists, photographers, and invited guests.
The event marked another significant step toward strengthening Uzbekistan–Pakistan cultural and tourism cooperation
