Naran, Pakistan: AI-generated fake videos are playing havoc with the tourism industry of Kaghan and Naran, as social media is sometimes flooded with fake videos showing cloudbursts on Jheel Road (Lake Saiful Maluk Road) and, at other times, reports of flooding in the Kunhar River.
Last year, the Hotel Owners Association of Naran took up the issue verbally with the relevant authorities, while this year it submitted an application to the cybercrime authorities, resulting in action against YouTubers and vloggers who were uploading fake videos. Following this action, thousands of fake videos about Naran and Kaghan have reportedly been deleted, and the public is no longer being misled or harassed by false information about weather conditions in the valley.

This was stated by a senior member of the Hotel Owners Association, who requested anonymity. He said fabricated news and fake videos harm the country’s tourism industry, particularly in the Naran-Kaghan Valley, which is a “heaven on earth” for family tourism.
