US voices concerns over escalation of tension between Pakistan, India

WASHINGTON: The United States has voiced concerns over escalation of situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary between Pakistan and India.

The US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Dan Feldman said while speaking at a think-tank, the Atlantic Council in Washington that his country raised the issue with India and Pakistan and asked them to resolve tensions through dialogue.

Feldman said that the US is extremely concerned by reports of violence over the last two weeks along the LoC and the Working Boundary.

The special representative said that he is convinced that India’s desire for prosperity and global leadership cannot be fully realised until it has a better relationship with Pakistan.
