Traffic jam at Bhara Kahu; residents demand Bus Stand

NewsTraffic jam at Bhara Kahu; residents demand Bus Stand

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The non-existence of Bus Stand in Bhara Kahu has immensely disrupted the flow of traffic, prompting local dwellers to demand the concerned authorities to establish Bus Stand on urgent basis.

Bhara Kahu is located adjacent to the Federal Capital, and with the passage of time, not only its population soared but a number of Commercial Markets were also erected; therefore, issues related to traffic also surfaced.

As per a report by Daily Nai Baat, there exist bus stops at Thoke Jilani, Bazaar, Athal Chowk, Hafiz ki Jhuggi, Bhera Pul and PCO in Bhara Kahu. However, no Bus Stand has yet been setup by the National Highway Authority (NHA) while drivers of public transport themselves have setup bus stops as per their liking.

The drivers at times also alter the place of bus stops which eventually causes disruption in traffic flow.

On Capital Development Authority (CDA) land, a Bus Stand has been setup at Hafiz ki Jhuggi on both Sides of Main Murree road while a Bus Stand also exists at Dhoke Jilani towards Rawalpindi. But not a single Bus Stand has been setup towards Murree.

The residents of Bhara Kahu have appealed the concerned authorities to ensure that as early as possible Bus Stands are built at rest of bus stops as well, so that the traffic could flow smoothly and traffic jam could be avoided.
