ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has planned to construct a wild life park near motorway with an estimated cost of Rs 4 billion.
It was decided during a meeting held here on Thursday by Managing Director PTDC Abdul Ghafoor, Managing Director Punjab Tourism Ahmer Malik and Director General Punjab Sports Board Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghuman.
Wild life park would be constructed with the joint efforts of Federal and Provincial Governments.
Ahmer Mallick, MD Punjab Tourism said that Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) was playing an effective role in promoting tourism in Punjab.
“We have developed many resorts with provision of recreational facilities all over the province.
TDCP is also actively involved in presentation and maintenance of historical and cultural sites,” he added.
Director General, Punjab Sports Board said that due to improvement in law and order situation in the country, sports activities in country were returning to previous glory.
“We intend to hold different tournaments where international players from all over the world will participate. We also look forward to PTDC, TDCP and other tourism organizations to jointly hold such activities in the country,” he remarked.
Abdul Ghafoor urged all federal and provincial departments of tourism, culture and sports to increase their collaboration to attract maximum tourists.
He said that tourism industry and sports had a great potential to grow, bring foreign exchange and increase tourists flow to country.
For promotion of tourism, the Prime Minister had also assigned PTDC to work on preservation and restoration of historical sites in the country with the help of provincial governments, he added.
