RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: At least six militants were killed in a clearance operation in Dattakhel area of the North Waziristan tribal region, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
The ISPR said that one soldier and one civilian also embraced martyrdom in the encounter with the militants in the area.
“A civilian logistic staff member was also killed in the same encounter when he was providing supplies to fighting forces,” the statement said.
The Pakistan military’s media wing said that the operation Zarb-e-Azb has been progressing in North Waziristan successfully, adding that the tribal region to a larger extent has been cleared of the militants.
More than 900 militants have so far been killed in the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb which was launched on June 15 in the North Waziristan tribal region.
