The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the banned militant group in Balochistan, has killed at least 40 people across the province as part of its “Operation Herof” in the latest attacks which coincides with the 18th anniversary of the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

The prominent Baloch politician and tribal chief Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed in a military operation on August 26, 2006, sparking deadly protests and inflaming the insurgency in Balochistan.

The armed men affiliated with the BLA, as the terror group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, launched attacks last night and today’s morning in Balochistan’s Musakhail, Mastung, Kalat, Lasbela, Pasni, Sibi, Panjgur, and Suntsar areas, resulting in multiple fatalities.

Besides targeting levies forces and police stations in the province, terrorists also killed 23 travellers after offloading them from trucks and buses in the Rarasham area of the Musakhel district while they also blew up a railway track connecting Pakistan and Iran.

The terrorists also set to 23 vehicles including 17 trucks, two passenger vans, and four pick-up vehicles on fire.40 killed in latest BLA attacks in Balochistan

Meanwhile, the security forces and law enforcement agencies responded effectively to these attacks, and eliminated 21 terrorists.

However, the operations against the attackers resulted in the martyrdom of 14 security personnel including 10 soldiers and four law enforcement officers, as per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In his statement, the Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that these destructive incidents are a conspiracy to create instability in Pakistan, adding that the enemy wants to create anarchy in the Country under a well-thought plan.

The interior minister vowed to take every possible step to restore law and order in Balochistan.
