KARACHI, Pakistan: A suicide blast took place targeting a Rangers mobile van in North Nazimabad area of Karachi on Friday evening, killing two Rangers personnel and injuring three others including a woman and a passerby.
The SP Gulberg said that apparently a suicide bomber hit his motorcycle with the Rangers mobile van at the Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan in Block J of North Nazimabad.
The rescue sources said that the blast caused serious damage to the Rangers vehicle, adding that several motorcycles were also damaged in the blast.
The dead bodies and injured were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where an emergency had been imposed.
The hospital sources said that the martyred Rangers have been identified as Yaar Muhammad and Qasim whereas three injured persons which also included a paramilitary official have been identified Zarf, Saeeda and Khurram (Ranger person).
Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly the North Nazimabad blast, and his expressed deep grief over the brutal killing of two Rangers personnel.
Earlier in the day, at least four persons were killed in a blast outside the Bohra community compound in the Aram Bagh area of Karachi.
