ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The by-elections in National Assembly’s eight and Punjab Assembly’s three Constituencies will take place on Sunday.
The polling will be held in NA-22 Mardan-III, NA-24 Charsadda-II, NA-31 Peshawar-V, NA-108 Faisalabad-VIII, NA-118 Nankana Sahib-II, NA-157 Multan-IV, NA-237 Malir-II, NA-239 Korangi Karachi-I, PP-139 Sheikhupura-V, PP-209 Khanewal-VII, and PP-241 Bahawalnagar-V.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), there are a total of 4,488,000 registered voters including 2,460,000 male and 2,028,000 female in these Constituencies.
The ECP said that 2,937 polling stations including 806 of men, 713 of women and 1,416 combined have been established for the polling.
It said that 747 polling stations have been declared most sensitive while 694 are sensitive.
In addition, the ECP said that 100 candidates are contesting the by-elections in these 11 Constituencies.
Out of National Assembly’s eight Constituencies, the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan himself is in the run in seven Constituencies while Meharbano Qureshi, the daughter of the former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, is the PTI’s nominee in NA-157 Multan-IV.
